Nick Reiner pleads not guilty in famous parents' double murder which shocked the world
Nick Reiner is accused of killing his parents, Hollywood director Rob Reiner and his wife Michelle Reiner, in their home in Brentwood
Nick Reiner, in front of the courtroom, pleaded not guilty to the murder of his parents, Rob and Michele, whose bodies with stab wounds were found in their home in Brentwood on Dec. 14.
The 32-year-old in Los Angeles Superior Court did not speak much; in fact, a report in Variety states he spoke only once as the court handed a date of April 29 for further proceedings.
He is the youngest son of the Hollywood director, whose murder he is accused of. If he is convicted, it's possible he could face the death penalty or life without parole.
Nick, similar to the shocking double murder allegations he is facing, also experienced legal woes at the start.
Alan Jackson, who agreed to his original lawyer, withdrew last month as the accused defence then rests on Kimberly Greene, a deputy public defender, shoulders – who is now representing him in court.
He is behind bars at Twin Towers Correctional Facility, a site located in Los Angeles, without bail.
Nick is known for suffering from drug addiction and was arrested hours after his parents' bodies were found by his sister, who then informed the authorities.
