2 vloggers booked under Peca for ‘vilifying’ DC, municipal official
REWALA: Two vlog gers in Vehari have been booked under cybercrime laws for allegedly spread ing fake news against the deputy commissioner and the chief officer of the municipal committee. According to police, the cases were regis tered on the complaint of Rao Naeem Khalid, Chief Officer of the Municipal Committee Vehari. The FIRs were lodged under Sections 20, 24, and 27 of the Prevention of Elec tronic Crimes Act (PECA) 2016. I f t i k h a r u l H a s s a n and Authorities claim that Muhammad Aslam had falsely accused the administration of using substandard material in a road construction project, prompting legal action. In a separate instance, Iftikharul-Hassan had allegedly uploaded a vlog in which he accused the deputy commissioner and Chief Officer Rao Naeem Khalid of corruption. Offi cials have dismissed the claims as fabricated and defamatory.
