Systems Limited acquires BAT’s IT services arm

KARACHI: Systems Limited has announced the acquisition of British American Tobacco SAA Services (Pvt) Ltd from British American Tobacco International Holdings (UK) Ltd to expand its global business process outsourcing (BPO) footprint.

In a notice to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the Lahore-based technology company confirmed that its Board of Directors approved the acquisition in a meeting held on July 29. The target company’s core business includes IT and digital services such as omni-channel customer support, marketing, HR, finance, procurement and supply chain solutions -- services aligned with Systems Limited’s existing BPO operations.

The acquisition was formalised through a share purchase agreement signed the same day. The deal remains subject to regulatory approvals and fulfilment of conditions precedent. In a related development, Techvista Systems FZ LLC -- an associated entity of Systems Limited registered in the UAE -- signed a multi-year Master Services Agreement with Accenture (UK) Limited. Under the agreement, Techvista will act as a sub-contractor delivering AI-powered global shared services, which will be channelled through the newly acquired company.

The twin developments mark a significant step forward in Systems Limited’s ambitions to scale its presence in the global outsourcing arena, particularly in AI-enabled service delivery.The financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed.
