At least eight people, including two minors, were wounded in different firing incidents across Karachi on Sunday. In an incident in Nazimabad’s Mujahid Colony during a wedding ceremony, 13-year-old Samiullah and 14-year-old Ali Abbas were injured due to gunfire.
Police said the shooting occurred following a dispute at the wedding, during which the two children, who were bystanders, were struck by stray bullets. Both were taken to a nearby hospital.
According to the spokesperson of the District Central SSP, police launched an immediate operation and detained several suspects, while efforts are ongoing to apprehend those directly involved in the firing.
In another incident in Banaras’ Frontier Colony, a man identified as Akhtar Hussain was wounded in a shooting, while a man named Kashif was injured during a robbery attempt in Orangi Town’s Khairabad area.
In Surjani’s Yousuf Goth, Abdul Rahim suffered a bullet wound from an unknown direction and was taken to a nearby hospital, while a man named Ali Raza was shot and wounded during a brawl in Baldia’s Mawach Goth.
In Orangi Town’s Baloch Goth, another man, identified as Niaz, was wounded in a firing incident, while in North Nazimabad’s Block H, a man named Baloch was injured in a similar case of gunfire. Police are investigating all the incidents, and have increased patrolling in the affected areas.
