Man stabbed to death over minor issue
LAHORE:A young man was stabbed to death in Sherakot’s Shaheenabad area over a minor dispute here on Monday.
According to initial reports, the suspect, identified as Allah Rakha, attacked Owais with a knife during an altercation, leaving him critically injured. The victim was rushed to hospital but succumbed to his injuries.
Upon receiving information, police shifted the body to the morgue via an Edhi ambulance for postmortem. Meanwhile, the suspect was traced and arrested in an intelligence-based operation in Sheikhupura. He has been handed over to the investigation wing for further legal proceedings.
Student shot at, injured by classmate
A student opened fire on his classmate in Ichhra, injuring him before fleeing the scene on Monday. According to initial reports, the suspect, identified as Rafaqat, had a heated argument with his 17-year-old classmate, Ali, which escalated into violence. Rafaqat allegedly pulled out a firearm and shot at Ali, leaving him injured.
Police shifted the wounded student to a hospital for treatment and launched a search operation to apprehend the suspect. Officials stated that raids are being conducted to track down the accused. Investigations are under way to determine the motive behind the attack.
Over-speeding costs biker of his life
A 44-year-old man lost his life in a motorcycle accident due to over speeding in the Gujjarpura area on Monday. The accident occurred near a petrol pump in China Scheme when the victim, identified as Imran, son of Jameel, lost control of his motorcycle and slipped. The impact proved fatal, leading to his immediate death.
Upon receiving information, police reached the scene and shifted the body to the morgue via an Edhi ambulance. Legal proceedings have been initiated to determine the exact circumstances of the accident.
Nine POs arrested
Dolphin Squad has intensified its crackdown against inter-provincial suspects wanted in terrorism and financial crimes, arresting nine proclaimed offenders on Monday.
The arrested individuals were wanted by police in Faisalabad, Kasur, Narowal, Sahiwal, Sargodha, and Lahore for fraud, bogus cheques, and financial scams. Among them, a suspect named Nawaz was wanted by Sahiwal police in a terrorism case. According to the Dolphin Squad spokesperson, the accused had been evading arrest for the past six years by hiding in the provincial capital. They were apprehended through intelligence-based operations and the E-Police Post App. Following their arrest, the suspects, including Babar, Nawaz, Imran, and Jabir, were handed over to relevant police stations.
