British Council announces video contest
Islamabad : The British Council on Saturday announced the 2024 edition of the Your World video competition, a platform where young, creative minds from the British Council Partner Schools Network showcase their talents by addressing pressing global issues through innovative social action videos.
Building on last year’s success, which saw Cadet College Hasanabdal claim the title of national winner after competing with over 90 partner schools across Pakistan, the 2024-25 competition takes on the theme, "Skills for Sustainability: Equipping All Youth for the Future."
The theme aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 4, focusing on quality education and fostering a global dialogue around sustainability.
Participating in the competition is a fantastic opportunity for students to use their creativity, problem-solving and digital skills to compete globally while also providing a window into their own lives, communities, and experiences, according to
Amanda Ingram, Exams Director Pakistan at the British Council.
“We support peace and prosperity by building connections, understanding, and trust between people in the UK and countries worldwide. With over 75 years of excellence here in Pakistan, British Council provides opportunity through the Your World competition to invite young, creative minds from our British Council Partner Schools network to showcase a three-minute social action video highlighting their unique perspective acknowledging and addressing the core issues, focusing on sustainable practices and innovative solutions for a better world.”
