Pete Davidson’s friend has dismissed the claim that the comedian is neglecting Elsie Hewitt and their baby after announcing their split.

The insider close to the former couple told Page Six that “Pete has been paying for everything related to Elsie and Scottie,” including “the rent, their living expenses, their health insurance.”

“They may have split but all he wants is for Elsie to be happy and in a good place," continued the source. “His main priority right now is making sure that Elsie and Scottie are looked after, so it’s utterly confusing to everyone who knows them why she would possibly post anything about him not supporting her."

“Obviously they have had personal disagreements and there has been a breakdown in the relationship but he is fully committed to being a good dad," added the confidant.

The insider further claimed that the insinuation the comedian is ignoring Elsie and their daughter is "completely false."

“That’s not the reality at all,” said the insider, asserting that the “truth is he is actually paying for everything.”

“Pete is doing everything to be super supportive to Elsie, he’s changed his schedule, and done everything he can to be there physically and financially so Elsie can feel supported,” the source concluded.

This clarification comes after Elsie claimed she was raising her baby Scotty on her own.

“I’m currently trying to find an assistant/ mother’s helper / nanny type / basically [a] right hand person,” she wrote on her Instagram handle over the weekend.

“Apply here if qualified & serious," she added. "Only looking @ responses with resumes."

Previously, the model shared a video on TikTok.

"I have a baby to take care of. I have to work and make money," Elsie said in the clip. "I’m doing it on my own, which is hard.”
