Meghan Markle continued to speak about children’s online safety after criticism over her daughter Princess Lilibet photo, the duchess posted before travelling to Geneva.

At the opening, Meghan spoke about the importance of transforming awareness into accountability and collective action.

Reflecting on conversations she has had with families across the world, she emphasized that online harm transcends borders, demographics, incomes, and ideologies, and socioeconomic divides, reminding attendees that every community has been touched in some way by the consequences of unsafe digital environments.

Meghan said, “Children must be safe by design, not safe by chance.”

Originally unveiled in New York in 2025 alongside nearly 50 families who lost children to online harm, The Lost Screen Memorial has become a powerful symbol of remembrance, accountability, and advocacy.

Its presence at the World Health Assembly reflects a growing global consensus: “protecting children online requires urgent collaboration across public and private sectors, alongside educators, experts, and communities with lived experience.”

Earlier, Meghan sparked criticism as she posted the latest photo of her daughter Princess Lilibet on social media.

Meghan took to Instagram and shared adorable photo with Lilibet as the Duchess was getting ready for a trip to Geneva.

The Duchess shared the picture with caption, “Mama’s little helper” alongside a heart emoticon.
