Lahore Youth Festival logo to visit dozens of varsities from 7th
LAHORE:The logo of the upcoming Lahore Youth Festival 2024 will travel to dozens of colleges and universities of the provincial capital during its 9-day tour starting from Oct 7, Monday.
The tour will start from Govt College University (GCU) on the morning of October 7 while University of Management and Technology (UMT) will be the last stopover of Lahore Youth Festival logo on Oct 16.
DG Youth Affairs and Sports Punjab Pervez Iqbal shared this information while presiding over a high profile meeting at National Hockey Stadium on Thursday. Additional Secretary Higher Education, Directors Sports from 25 Universities and Colleges, Director Sports Yasmeen Akhtar, Chief Sports Consultant Hafeez Bhatti and other officials attended the key meeting. The sports events of Lahore Youth Festival to be organized under the auspices of Sports Board Punjab were reviewed thoroughly in the meeting.
The competitions of marathon, fun race, cycling, athletics disciplines (100m, 200m and 400m, discus throw, javelin throw, shot putt, long jump and high jump), tug-of-war and gymnastics will be conducted during Lahore Youth Festival 2024.
The sports trials of Lahore Youth Festival games will be held at Punjab Stadium while the players selected in the trials will participate in the final sports competitions at the Fortress Stadium.
Addressing the meeting, Pervez Iqbal said that holding of Lahore Youth Festival is a good initiative and Punjab Chief Secretary Zahid Akhtar Zaman has issued important instructions to organize the mega event in a befitting manner.
He said that the arrangements of logo tour of Lahore Youth Festival have been finalised. “Logo float of Lahore Youth Festival will start its journey from Monday and visit different educational institutions of the city,” he said. Pervez Iqbal said that Sports Board Punjab will provide all possible support for the successful organization of Lahore Youth Festival as per directives of Punjab Chief Secretary and in this regard, all necessary instructions have been issued to all concerned officers.
