LAHORE:An electricity pole fell on the newly-constructed road at Bund Road Corridor Project injuring two persons here Wednesday.
LDA DG Tahir Farooq took notice of the incident and directed the Project Director to submit a detail report regarding the incident. LDA officials said the pole fell due to gusty winds and as per the preliminary report of the consultant, the nut bolts of the pole were stolen, which raised serious questions over the security of the project.
LDA DG directed the project director to survey the poles of the entire road and fix them immediately. He said that timely preventive measures should be taken to avoid such unpleasant incidents in the future. He said that strict action would be taken against the people involved in the theft of the nut bolts of the poles.
Meanwhile, on the direction of LDA DG, action was taken against the violation of parking rules in the City. TEPA Enforcement Wing conducted operations in Faisal Town and Allama Iqbal Town and sealed 22 properties, including banks, restaurants, trading companies, offices, grocery shops, pharmacies, furniture shops, salons and clinics.
