Illegal recruitment: Court extends interim bail to PTI lawmakers
PESHAWAR: The special judge of the Anti-Corruption Court on Thursday extended the interim bail to the former and current lawmakers and leaders of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) charged with corruption and illegal recruitment and directed them to appear in the court on next hearing.
The Anti-Corruption Court Special Judge Salahuddin heard the cases of corruption and illegal recruitment against the lawmakers and leaders of the PTI, including provincial Minister Zahir Shah Toru, Abdus Salam Afridi, Iftikhar Mashwani, Tufail Anjum and Mujahid Khan and others.
The court extended the interim bail to the applicants till July 20 and directed them to appear in the court on next hearing.Earlier, Syed Sikandar Hayat Shah informed the court that lawmaker Atif Khan could not appear in the court due to his engagement in the debate on budget in the National Assembly.
According to the Anti-Corruption Department, Mardan, the former and present PTI lawmakers were involved in corruption and illegal recruitment when the PTI was ruling the province.After a thorough probe, the Anti-Corruption Department registered cases against the nominated lawmakers in Mardan and elsewhere in the province.The accused then submitted an application for the interim bail, which was granted by the court.
