Summer camps at Swimming Complex
LAHORE:Summer camps will begin with an opening ceremony scheduled to take place at Punjab International Swimming Complex on June 25 (today). Punjab Minister for Youth Affairs Malik Faisal AyubKhokhar will inaugurate the 40-day Summer Sports Camps in the presence of a large number of participating children and their parents.
DGYouth Affairs Punjab Pervez Iqbal shared this information while presiding over an important meeting at National Hockey Stadium on Monday. Director Admin M Kaleem, Director Sports Yasmeen Akhtar, Deputy Director Zahoor Ahmed and AtaurRehman participated in the key meeting. Director Admin M Kaleem gave detailed briefing to DG Sports Punjab about preparations and other key features of Summer Sports Camps. Addressing the meeting, Pervez Iqbal said that so far more than 1,000 children have been registered for Summer Sports Camps, which will continue till August 3, 2024. “Expert coaches have been engaged to train the participating children in Summer Sports Camps. These coaches will impart training to camp probable in 12 games including athletics, archery, badminton, table tennis, hockey, football, tennis, swimming, cricket, karate, taekwondo and gymnastics in Lahore and six games in other divisions of Punjab”.
He further said that male and female children aged 5 to 16 years are eligible to take part in Summer Sports Camps. “Punjab Youth Affairs Department is also conducting yoga classes for parents particularly mothers accompanying their children during the Summer Sports Camps. This initiative will also help a lot in improving the fitness of mothers of young camp participants besides ending their feeling of boredom during the training session of their children”.
