MANSEHRA: A house was gutted after a heavy fire ripped through the building in the Bela Schain area of Balakot tehsil on Sunday.
The locals rushed on the spot and rescued the family members of Qari Mohammad Yunus to a nearby safer place.
The fire engulfed the entire building within the shortest time as most of the interior, according to inmates, had been built with wooden planks.
The locals put out the fire after making hectic efforts of over an hour.
The owner told reporters that he along with his family members were unaware of what exactly caused the fire, which gutted his house and reduced household goods to ashes.
The police lodged the first information report and started an investigation to ascertain the cause of the fire.
