Rs600,000 released for cops’ medical treatment
LAHORE:Inspector General of Police (IGP) Punjab Dr Usman Anwar has released an additional Rs600,000 funds for medical treatment of employees and their families deputed in City and various other districts.
According to the details, Constable Murad Ali of Pakpattan Police was granted Rs100,000 for treatment of various ailments. Special Branch's Intelligence Operator Muhammad Zubair Khan received Rs100,000 for treatment of brain tumour.
Retired Head Constable Shabbir Ahmad of Lahore Police was provided Rs100,000 for heart surgery expenses, while Constable Waqas Mahmood received Rs100,000 for knee treatment. Constable Shahbaz Ali of Kasur Police was given Rs100,000 for treatment of a leg fracture, and Constable Aqib Nadeem Khan of Mianwali was granted Rs100,000 for medical treatment. A committee, chaired by Additional IG Welfare and Finance, Riaz Nazir Gara, approved these cases after scrutiny.
IGP lauds Khidmat Centres’ services
IG Punjab emphasised Punjab Police's commitment to enhancing public service delivery, transparency, and accountability on United Nations Public Service Day.
He highlighted the success of Police Khidmat Centres in providing essential services, with over 6,900 citizens served in the past 24 hours, including police character certificates, verifications, lost document reports, and tenancy agreements. Since February 26, more than 700,000 citizens have benefited from these centers, utilizing modern technology for convenience.
Funeral prayers for cop
The funeral prayer for Dolphin Force constable Shaheed Muhammad Adnan was held at Police Lines Qila Gujjar Singh here on Sunday.
The funeral prayer was attended by CCPO Lahore Bilal Siddique Kamyana, DIG (Organised Crime Unit) Imran Kishwar, DIG (Operations) Faisal Kamran, SSP (Dolphin) Rana Umar Farooq, SP Headquarters Ahmad Zunair Cheema and other senior officers. Constable Muhammad Adnan was martyred by robbers.
The CCPO paid tribute to the martyred constable by presenting a salute and laying a wreath on his body. A prayer was offered for his soul and a ceremonial guard of Lahore police honoured him with a salute.
The CCPO and other senior officers extended their condolences to the family and commended the constable's dedication to duty.
The CCPO also issued directives for the best possible medical treatment for constable Muhammad Zafarullah who was injured in the encounter. He said that the constable had brought honour to the department.
