EOBI sidelined

To the best of my knowledge, there is no mention of an increment in EOBI pension, which is currently a meagre Rs10000 per month, in the latest budget. Unprecedented inflation in the country calls for a substantial increase in the EOBI pension, equal to the minimum monthly wage of Rs37000 announced in the federal budget so that pensioners are able to make ends meet in a respectable way.
This group has been constantly ignored by governments present and past. The prime minister is requested to intervene on this issue and provide some relief to the inflation-stricken pensioners.
