Nepra has approved a hefty net fuel charges adjustment (FCAs) of Rs10 per unit for June-September 2024. The government does not appear to be taking notice of these monthly hikes in electricity charges, which are making people’s lives miserable.
It is quite strange that despite a decrease in crude oil prices internationally, K-Electric has been allowed to increase electricity prices almost every month. The parity dollar rate against the rupee has also been stable for some time. So, how is it that electricity charges keep getting jacked up?
