PESHAWAR: Dr Muhammad Iqbal was elected president and Dr Gulzar Jalal general secretary of the Gadoon Officers Organization here on Sunday.
A press release Prof Dr Haider Shah, former vice-chancellor of the Islamia College University, supervised the electoral exercise participated by the members of the organization. Prof. Dr Muhammad Iqbal, is the Dean of the Faculty of Numerical and Physical Sciences, University of Peshawar, while Dr Gulzar Jalal is the head of the English Department of the Edwardes College Peshawar.
The other elected office-bearers included Umar Daraz Khan, SP of the Police Department, senior vice-president; Dr Sher Rahman, vice-president for Peshawar; Mian Zaman Khan, vice-president for Gadoon town in Swabi; Fiaz Muhammad Khan, vice-president for Islamabad; Dr Asghar Khan, deputy general secretary; Engr. Pir Muhammad, finance secretary; Dr Gul Nabi Khan, press and information secretary.
Dr Muhammad Amin, Dr Amir Rahman, Dr Muhammad Idrees, Engr. Lalbadshah, Engr Gulzeb Khan, Gohar Rahman and Jehanzeb khan were elected to the advisory council.Prof Dr Haider Shah and Mushtaq Jadoon, a former health secretary, would be the chief patrons of the organization.
The newly elected office-bearers thanked all the members and vowed to make the body more vibrant.It was decided that the new office-bearers would take oath at a ceremony to be arranged at Gadoon town of the Swabi district.
