An alarming report from the World Health Organization (WHO) indicates that Pakistan has the highest number of viral hepatitis C infections in the world. With an estimated 8.8 million cases of viral hepatitis C infections, the country accounts for around 44 per cent of all new hepatitis C infections attributable to unsafe injections. More sincere efforts are needed to prevent, control and eliminate this viral infection.
