PM’s economic roadmap best, to steer country out of crises: Maryam

Maryam highlighted that reducing inflation and alleviating poverty was a crucial part of the economic roadmap

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has welcomed the economic roadmap given by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

She said the PM had presented the best roadmap to steer the country out of economic crisis and added that it was a historic and revolutionary initiative and his vision for promoting foreign investment was commendable.

Maryam highlighted that reducing inflation and alleviating poverty was a crucial part of the economic roadmap. She maintained that the PMLN government’s main goal was to achieve high production through low-cost agricultural inputs in the farm sector. The CM emphasized that everyone had to work together for development and stability of economy.

Meanwhile, on the direction of CM Maryam Nawaz, digital monitoring of the ‘Ramazan Nigehban’ relief package is underway successfully. The distribution process to 2.832 million families under the ‘Ramazan Nigehban’ relief package had been completed and its digital monitoring had also been undertaken.

The ‘Ramazan Nigehban’ package report has been submitted to the Punjab CM, who ordered for expediting the distribution process to the needy families, adding that transparency should be maintained in the distribution process under any circumstance.

A campaign against price-hike has also been accelerated across the province. The report submitted to the CM by the Industries Department, said that the price control magistrates carried out 1,271 crackdowns on profiteers. Random checking was undertaken at 773,000 sites in 15 days and 23,000 profiteers were apprehended. A fine exceeding Rs62.2 million was imposed on the profiteers, while 1,682 FIRs were registered and 4,858 people arrested.

The CM said, “We cannot leave the poor at the mercy of profiteers”, adding that the recent trend in reduction of prices was satisfactory.

Meanwhile, CM Maryam Nawaz condemned the terrorist attack on a check-post at Mir Ali in North Waziristan. She paid tribute to the martyred officers and sepoys of Pakistan Army. She expressed her heartfelt sympathy with the family members of martyrs. Maryam paid salute to the valour of Lieutenant Colonel Kashif for consigning the terrorists to hell.
