Ever since football legend Lionel Messi has joined Inter Miami team last year, Messi mania continues to jolt the United States. And it doesn’t look like the craze will stop anytime soon, Boston reported.
As the Argentine player touched down Boston with his team to play against New England Revolution, he was greeted by hordes of fans chanting his name and holding up his jersey.
The match is scheduled for Saturday and will be played at Gillette stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts. The match will start at 7:30pm local time.
The 36-year-old football is signed to a $20.4 million-per-year contract with Miami which is owned by David Beckham. His admission in an American soccer team has brought unprecedented amount of attention to professional soccer in the US.
The legend footballer has scored 20 goals and assists in just 23 matches with Inter Miami team.

In a recent interview, Messi talked about his desire to continue playing, he said, "For my retirement, it will not matter what age I am. If I feel good, I will keep playing."
