Six killed in Oghi accident
MANSEHRA: Six persons, including a woman and her two children, were killed and many others sustained injuries when a van fell into a ravine in Oghi on Saturday evening.
“Six people were killed and as many sustained critical injuries when the passenger van fell into a ravine in Nimal Khatta area,” Zulfiqar Khan Jadoon, the deputy superintendent of police in Oghi, told reporters.
He said that a team of police led by the station house officer took part in the rescue activities and shifted the injured to the Civil Hospital in Oghi.
The van was on its way to Darband from Oghi when the driver, in bid to overtake a truck, lost control over vehicle and it fell into a ditch.
Those who killed in the accident were identified as Mohammad Sabir, Mohammad Sultan, a woman and her two children and Shahnawaz.
Murtaza Tanoli, the district naib nazim, told reporters that heavy trucks loaded with mineral excavated in Tanawal had destroyed the roads.
