Raza Rabbani questions EMS performance ahead of polls
Two ROs, for NA-197, Qambar, Shahdadkot, and PS-12, Larkana, have reported faults in system
ISLAMABAD: Former chairman Senate Senator Mian Raza Rabbani has questioned the Election Management System (EMS) saying it had started showing faults even before the Election Day.
“Two ROs, for NA-197, Qambar, Shahdadkot and PS-12, Larkana, have reported faults in the system,” he said while reacting to the media reports on the EMS.
The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) is using the EMS to collect and tabulate the results on 8th February.
Rabbani said according to media reports, Mashori, RO NA-197, had written that the duties of polling staff were uploaded on the system but later couldn’t be found.
He further said the system was either a failure or was being controlled.
Rabbani said these observations raise a serious question on the reliability and validity of the software. He said the history of 2018 should not repeat, as the federation could not afford further political instability.
