Despite ‘police action’: PTI holds power show in Swabi
SWABI: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) here on Saturday held its power show despite the fact that they were not allowed by district administration.
The party activists from across the district enthusiastically participated in the event and expressed anguish over entangling their leader in fabricated cases to defame him.
Despite the district police strategy to collect chairs, loudspeakers and other materials from the venue, the PTI leaders and workers managed to hold the workers’ convention.
At one point, the situation turned serious when the police started picking up the chairs.
Attaullah Khan, a local PTI leader, moved forward, stopped the police from picking up chairs and warned the cops against lifting the chairs.
Speaking on the occasion, Asad Qaiser, former speaker of National Assembly, said that in the cipher, Iddat and Toshakhana cases, Imran Khan was sentenced to 10 years, seven years and 14 years prison respectively.
He said that the PTI leaders were not accepting the court verdicts made against Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi. He said the verdicts were based on justice.
He said that on February8, the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa would tell former prime minister Nawaz Sharif as to who was stupid.
He lamented the remarks of his daughter Maryam Nawaz labelling the Pakhtuns as terrorists.
He said that JUIF leader Fazlur Rahman took credit for dislodging the PTI government but in fact the Pakistan Democratic Movement leaders conspired against the PTI with the help from the US.
Earlier when the police party raided the venue and collected chairs, removed the loudspeakers, and other materials from the place of the gathering, the PTI leaders declared that they would hold the convention at any cost.
