Sindh Chief Secretary Fakhre Alam has formed a committee to resolve the grievances being faced by industrialists and business community members, including foreign investors.
Officials said that on the recommendations of the provincial industries and commerce department, the government of Sindh constituted the Sindh Industrialisation & Facilitation Committee for effective coordination, proper guidance and facilitation to the local and international investors who have or who are interested in setting up industries and businesses in the province, and for resolution of their issue and grievances.
They added that an order had been issued by the chief secretary’s office in this regard. The committee is headed by the Sindh industries and commerce minister and its other members are additional chief secretary local government and HTP department, industries and commerce secretary, investment secretary, energy secretary, labour and human resource secretary, Directorate of Industries and Commerce Sindh managing director, Sindh Industrial Trading Estate (SITE) Karachi managing director, Sindh Small Industries Corporation (SSIC) chief, NED University Pro Vice Chancellor Dr Muhammad Tufail, Institute of Business Administration Executive Director Prof Dr Akbar Zaidi and others.
The terms of reference (ToRs) for the committee are, “The Committee shall resolve all the issues being faced by the Industrialists and Business Community as per applicable rules and government policy. The Committee shall make effective coordination, provide proper guidance and facilitation to the local and international investors for investment in Sindh.
“The Committee shall work as bridge between the government of Sindh and the Industrialists and Business Community while creating conducive environment & removing all bottlenecks & hindrance towards the industrialization. The Committee shall hold meetings on quarterly basis.”
