I am deeply concerned and alarmed by Pakistan’s mass deportation of Afghan refugees. While acknowledging a nation’s right to manage immigration, such large-scale deportations, particularly of vulnerable populations, raise questions about humanitarian principles and adherence to international norms. The situation in Afghanistan has been tumultuous, leading to a significant number of Afghan refugees seeking safety in neighboring countries.
I implore the relevant authorities to carefully reconsider the decision, taking into account the potential humanitarian impact and the complexities of the situation. Diplomatic and humane solutions should be explored, with an emphasis on upholding the dignity and rights of those affected.
