ISLAMABAD: Iraqi Member of Parliament Abdul Hadi Al-Hasnawi hosted a warm reception in honor of Chairman Senate of Pakistan, Muhammad Sadiq Sanjrani, and his accompanying delegation in Najaf.
Expressing his sentiments, MP Al-Hasnawi conveyed that Pakistan is regarded as a second home by the Iraqi people, emphasising their admiration for Pakistan’s remarkable achievements. He specifically highlighted Pakistan’s status as the first and only nuclear power among Muslim countries, a fact that resonates deeply with the people of Iraq.
During the reception, Chairman Senate underlined the historical significance of Najaf in Islamic history. He emphasised the special place that Pakistani Muslims hold in their hearts for Najaf, considering it one of the holiest places for Muslims. “This sentiment further strengthens the cultural and religious ties between the two nations,” he remarked.Bilateral relations took centre stage during discussions, with Chairman Senate being accompanied by Senators Dilawar Khan, Faisal Saleem Rehman, and Mohammad Abdul Qadir. The exchange provided an opportunity for both sides to explore avenues for enhanced cooperation and collaboration.
