PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police authorities on Thursday removed a senior officer from the field post and started an inquiry against him after allegations by a woman that she was harassed by him.
An official said the Inspector General of Police Akhtar Hayat Khan directed the cops to register a case against the officer in the Chamkani Police Station after allegations by a local woman that she was tortured and harassed by the cop.
The action was taken as a local woman addressed a press conference the previous day and leveled serious allegations against a former district police officer of Charsadda.The video of the lady went viral on social media in which she alleged the officer forced her to get divorce from her husband so that he would marry her. She said the cop, Arif, had put pressure on her spouse too, ruining their life.
