Combating rural food insecurity requires a broad, long-term plan. Rural areas often have limited access to markets and transportation infrastructure, making it difficult for farmers to sell and produce food and for residents to access a variety of affordable and nutritious food options. Many rural communities face higher poverty rates and lower income levels compared to urban areas.
This can make it challenging for individuals and families to afford an adequate and nutritious diet.
Limited access to education and knowledge about sustainable farming practices, nutrition, and food preservation also hinder agricultural productivity and food security. We need to implement policies that can address these issues in order to make food security a reality for all Pakistanis.
