LAHORE: Punjab Governor Muhammad Balighur Rehman visited Mazar-e-Iqbal, laid floral wreath, and recited Fatiha. On this occasion, special prayer was offered for the development and stability of the country and the Muslims of Palestine and Kashmir.
A contingent of Pakistan Navy presented guard of honour to the governor. Balighur Rehman also penned down his comments in the visitor's book and said that Allama Iqbal was a great poet, thinker, and philosopher. Allama Iqbal's thought and philosophy needs to be practically adopted.
CS attends change of guards ceremony
On the occasion of 146th birth anniversary of Poet of the East Allama Muhammad Iqbal, Chief Secretary Zahid Akhtar Zaman attended the ceremony of change of guards held at Mazar-e-Iqbal here Thursday. The chief secretary laid a floral wreath on the mausoleum and offered Fateha. He also recorded his remarks in the guest book.
Minister pays tribute to Allama Iqbal
On the occasion of Allama Iqbal's 146th birth anniversary, Federal Minister for National Heritage and Culture Syed Jamal Shah along with Director of Iqbal Academy Pakistan Dr Abdul Rauf Rafiqi visited Allama Iqbal's mausoleum, laid wreaths, and offered Fateha on Thursday.
According to a press release, the minister paid tributes to Dr Iqbal and said his teachings itself became the foundation of the establishment of Pakistan, and even today we could lead our country towards development by using his thoughts as a light and a roadmap.
Dr Rafiqi said we will play the role of vanguard to keep Iqbal's and Quaid's thoughts alive forever. Dr Allama Iqbal was well aware of the scientific and technical progress of the present age, he added.
The minister wrote down the feedback in the guest book. Administrator Aiwan e Iqbal Anjum Waheed, Muhammad Riaz Chishti, Muhammad Nauman Chishti, Chaudhry Faheem Arshad, Muhammad Ishaq, Abdul Jabbar and Muhammad Tayyab were also present on the occasion.
