THE PRETTY BRUNETTE

You! How old were you, when you started doing your makeup?

I started doing makeup when I was 18 years old. It has hardly been a year that I learnt applying lip tint correctly.

You! What is your everyday makeup look?

Natural with a lipstick or a liner.

You! When stepping out, do you wear makeup all the time?

My skin is my asset; partly genetic. I take care of it and refrain from using makeup all the time; but I don’t go out without lipstick.

You! Do you use sunblock or any serums when you go to shoots?

Yes, I use Vaseline lotion and Vinci day cream. This is what I have been using from a long time.

You! Any tips for school and university going girls?

Yes, wear light colours and go for tied-up hairstyles. Drink more water and eat more fruits, and partake in sports activities to stay super fit.

You! What’s your most favourite perfume?

Twin by Azzaro.

You! What are your favourite brands in lipsticks?

M.A.C., Maybelline, Medora and D&G.

You! Do you use lighter tones of foundations or warm tones?

I go for warmer tones as it’s darker than my skin tone and it gives me an attractive look.

You! After coming back from shoots how do you remove the makeup and cleanse your skin?

My cleansing routine is basic. I can’t wait to get rid of makeup, the moment I come back. Firstly, I use makeup remover with cotton and then apply cleansing milk which takes off all the dirt and grime. And then all ends up with a face wash.

You! Hair gets damaged after straightening and blow drying. How do you manage?

Being in showbiz, there is no escape but I feel blessed to have naturally good hair which sit well in a ponytail, braids or a bun.

You! And what do you do to keep your hair healthy?

I wash my hair four times a week and oil them frequently. I use less shampoo and don’t brush my hair when they are wet.

You! What is your take on natural makeup or zero makeup?

I apply lotion on my face and then go with nude lip colours along with light blush on cheeks.

You! Advice for women who can’t buy expensive brands but still want to look good…

They can buy normal brands which are less expensive like Medora and these have good shades. They just need to learn how to apply them the right way.

My love for sports and my diet.

You! When it comes to cosmetics, which brand do you usually use?

M.A.C., Maybelline and Karaja.

Vinci day cream, blush, lipstick and colourful liners.

You! Do you go to salon regularly for your facials?

No, I don’t let anyone touch my skin. I just take care myself. I do cleansing and keep it clean.

You! Your favourite local beautician:

Javeria Irum. She is my personal makeup artist and simply phenomenal.

You! Your favourite international beautician:

Val Garland.

You! Your go-to place for hair and makeup?

I have my own makeup artist so I normally don’t go out for makeup.

You! Your beauty regimen?

Eat healthy as it keeps skin glowing. Don’t put on makeup without primer and wash it with care so there is no build-up in your pores. Use good brands and check their expiry date. Don’t use anyone else’s makeup stuff.

You! Do you use anti-aging creams?

No, I don’t. Before I call it a day, I cleanse my face and apply a serum every alternate day. I let my skin breathe by not putting anything when I’m not shooting.

You! Where do you go for your makeup shopping?

Cosmetic shop or malls where there are all brands available as I use different products from different brands. It depends on what suits me more.

You! Do you use whitening creams?

No, I don’t. I believe natural complexion is always best. You just have to take care of skin texture and rest is fine. I have no issue with complexion.

You! What does the word beauty mean to you?

Beauty for me is a combination of things: makeup, attitude, good sense of humour. Basically, anything you wear, you have to own it.
