As we know Eid-ul-Azha festivities have just passed by and the season of barbecue parties and family dawats is round the corner! However, this time, the celebration will be a low key affair; thanks to coronavirus… But fret not, we have lovely treats to try if you are staying home and want to maintain social distancing. This week we share Food Fusion’s yummilicious ‘Muthiya Kabab’ to deviate you a bit from stress and enjoy your Eid at home with your pals. Happy eating!

INGREDIENTS

Onion 1 medium

Ginger 1 inch piece

Garlic 8-10 cloves

Green chillies 2-3

Mint leaves 2 tbs

Fresh coriander 2-3 tbs

Minced mutton ½ kg

Coriander seeds (roasted & crushed) 1 tbs

Cumin seeds (roasted & crushed) ½ tbs

Red chilli powder 1 tsp or to taste

Turmeric powder ½ tsp

Red chilli (crushed) 1 tsp

Salt ½ tbs or to taste

Garam masala powder 1 tsp

Cooking oil 2-3 tbs

Water ½ cup or as required

METHOD

  • In chopper, add onion, ginger, garlic, green chillies, mint leaves, fresh coriander and chop well.
  • Add minced mutton, coriander seeds, cumin seeds, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, red chilli crushed, salt, garam masala powder and chop until well combined.
  • Grease hands with oil, take a mixture and make kababs of equal sizes (makes 18-20).
  • In wok, add cooking oil and place kababs.
  • Add water and bring it to boil, cover and cook on low flame for 15-18 minutes (at this point, can be stored in freezer for up to 1 month) then cook on high flame until golden brown.
