Rice is our favourite staple food that works with any kind of gravy and suitable for every occasion. Adding a twist to the humble rice dish, this week You! collaborates with Syed Ali, Executive Chef Karachi Mariott Hotel, who shares his unique recipe of ‘Saffron Rice’.

Ingredients

Vermicelli Rice/Banaspati rice 250gm

Ghee/Oil 50ml

Ginger garlic paste 25gm

Saffron 2gm

Water 500ml

Method

  • Soak rice for 15 min.
  • Heat pan and add oil.
  • Add ginger garlic paste to the rice.
  • Then cook it for 2 min and add rice, water and saffron.
  • Cook rice until soft.
