When we talk about desserts, we often associate it with the heart. Even with stuffed bellies after a fulfilling dinner, many would find room for a sweet treat as it goes to the heart, not stomach. And, if were to pick a favourite, chocolate would probably get the most votes, especially by women. When we happen to feel a little down in the dumps, the one thing could possibly cheer us up is a little chocolate. Not only does it make us feel better, it is also a way to express your affections. Moreover, if it is a custom-made chocolate, it makes it even more special.

Recently, Hashoo Group, in collaboration with Belgian chocolate maker Callebaut, opened the doors to the first chocolate shop in Islamabad with a glamorous launch party, organised by Rezz Aly Shah at Marriott Hotel. Belgian Ambassador H.E. Frederic Verhyden and his wife Mookda Mairue were present for the ribbon-cutting. Celebrities and socialites were also present at the event along with models Natty, Zoya, Nosheen and Sunny as the host and models.

‘L’Artisan’ is named for after the centuries-old art of handcrafted Belgian chocolate. Belgian chocolate is known across the world as the ultimate standard in premium chocolate thanks to the finely-balanced taste created by the high quality of the cocoa butter. Prepared exclusively using Callebaut brand chocolate couverture, L’Artisan chocolates are masterfully sculpted in a delicious variety of pralines, truffles, caramels, and ganaches and presented in beautifully embossed gift boxes. Moreover, as a part of the collaboration Chocolate Academy renowned chocolatier Marc Pauquet visited Pakistan to train pastry chefs in the art of chocolate making at many hotels across the country.

Some of the notable chocolates for sale at the shop include the signature ‘Amour Hashoo’, a clover-shaped praline filled with rich chocolate ganache made with a hint of sesame seed; ‘Truffe Cafe’, cardamom and coffee cream ganache covered in powdered sugar; ‘Grand Marnier’, dark or milk chocolate praline filled with tart mango coulis and creamy caramel.

Following this launch, there are plans to open this chocolate shop in all major cities of Pakistan.
