Pakistan’s fashion industry has seen a lot of growth in recent years. Our designers have really defined creativity and there are dozens of educated new local fashion designers who have stepped up the game. Whether its bridals, formals or a luxury lawn pret line, one is spoilt for choice with a number of brands offering quality and unique designs. However, this isn’t just limited to within our borders. Many of our designers are now internationally-acclaimed for either combining contemporary silhouettes with the traditional techniques of old, or coming up with their own unique styles that never fail to wow its audience. This is one of the reasons why our fashion shows have made a place in the international front also.

Recently, Pakistan Fashion Week season 14 successfully concluded in London, highlighting the evolving trends in the Pakistani fashion industry. The show was held at Hilton on Park Lane, headlined by Designer Saadia Mirza and famous models Fouzia Aman and Omer Shahzad. The luxury pret shows showcased an impressive 25 designers including Aisha Imran, Ayesha Ibrahim, Komal Nasir & Hamna Amir. Also, there was an unprecedented footfall of 3500 attendees. PFW14 has become the main UK exhibitor of the flourishing Pakistani clothing industry, collaborating with designers to make their services available in a one-stop experience. The access for many Londoners and others who travelled across the UK to see the shows is invaluable, allowing access to Pakistani designers without leaving the country.

The event was organised by Riwayat and powered by Fatima Salamat, Unique and Feya Cafe arranged a lovely afternoon tea. Adnan Ansari choreographed the show, making a comeback to his core passion.

Chris East, Co-Founder and Producer for Riwayat said, “We are pleased with the feedback and turnout. Our custom made ramp was 32 meters long which allowed much more people to be at the front row. That way, a larger audience was able to enjoy the show up close and personal. Riwayat is thrilled to be able hold these shows with such a receptive audience. This is our drive that helps us to deliver the best experience yet.” Kudos!
