Traditions represent a critical piece of our culture. As we interact with each other from different cultures, we have the possibility to enrich our life and broaden our horizons. This diversity adds the flavour to life, the zeal to live, and an adventure to take on. Speaking of which, as Pakistan’s fashion industry grows with each passing year, our designers are showcasing cutting edge fashion with their innovative and experimental designs nationally and internationally. Be it bridals, formals or luxury pret wear, one is spoilt for choice with the variety and quality available to us in the markets.

Recently, Adnan Ansari and Chris East of Riwayat yet again delivered a spectacular event full of fashion and cultural dances in Geneva. The second season of ‘Lifestyle Geneva’ was held at the Intercontinental Hotel with a distinguished guest list of over 350 people including over twenty nationalities in what was a hugely multicultural audience.

This season’s fashion designers included ‘Sublime’ by Sara Shahid, Moazzam Abbasi, Agha Noor, Bushar Wahid and Wajhat Shehroze. Moreover, Hajra Lallji showcased her debut collection and Rabia Ben Barka from Libya showcased her latest collection on the ramp along with five other brands. The show was directed and choreographed by Adnan Ansari, produced by Chris East, photographed by Shahid Malik, styled by Zara’s Salon, whereas the hair and makeup was done by Saima Kiran.

The fashion presentation was interspersed with cultural and folk dance performances from Marian, a Geneva based dance group. Adnan Ansari, Co-Founder and Creative Director for Riwayat said, “It was a pleasure to be able to deliver this event in Geneva where our partners never fail to attract such an international audience, hungry to see what the Asian world has to offer.”

Riwayat are renowned for delivering high quality, well managed events and this show didn’t fail to deliver. Delivered in partnership with the Swiss Pakistan Society and the Pakistan embassy in Bern, the audience included ambassadors from countries like Saudi Arabia with a strong representation from United Nations staff. Local host Nighat Syed and Sohail Mirza pulled together the local coordination that made the event such a great success.
