Tiramisu is an Italian dessert and the word itself means ‘pick me up’ or ‘cheer me up’.

Ingredients

Black strong coffee 1 1/2 cup

Castor Sugar 4 tbsp

Eggs (separated) 3 large

Mascarpone Cheese 1/2 cup

Heavy cream 1/2 cup

Ladyfinger (sponge biscuits) As required

Vanilla essence 2 drops

Cocoa powder to dust

Method

• Whisk together sugar and egg yolks.
  
• Pour coffee into a shallow dish and soak the biscuits.
  
• Layer the biscuits in a serving dish with cream cheese.
  
• Make two layers of each and dust it with cocoa powder.
  
• Cover the dish and let it chill overnight.
  
• Serve with grated chocolate on top.
