Gorgeous Iram Ansari is a breath of fresh air in the fashion fraternity. The model turned actor started her career in the fashion industry on the insistence of friends and family. Though she was a debutante, her determination and focus towards work was like a thorough professional model. Her approach opened doors to many new opportunities and she took on whatever challenges that came along with it. This versatile model then met with photographer Khawar Riaz and she was able to further carve a space for herself in the industry. She worked hard and proved her mettle through various projects including Ethnic, Zara, Asifa & Nabeel, Komair Rokni, Khawar Riaz Salon and Almas Jewellers - to name a few. She forayed into showbiz with drama serials ‘Aslam Ka Gaoun’ and later, ‘Ishq-e-Laa’. She is set out to come out with more exciting projects soon. What is your everyday makeup look?

I don’t like applying a lot of makeup. I prefer to stay natural.

How old were you, when you started doing your makeup?

I started wearing makeup after the age of 17.

When stepping out, do you wear makeup all the time?

I like staying makeup free, most of the time. Only applying it when required, for example, during shoots.

Do you use sunblock or any serums when you go to shoots?

Yes, sunblock is a must. Still experimenting with serums to see what suits my skin.

To deal with summers, any tips for school and university going girls?

Keep it simple, don’t use makeup unnecessarily and avoid chemicals.

Your favourite perfume:

Chanel.

Favourite brand for lipsticks:

Medora.

Do you use lighter tones of foundations or warm tones?

Lighter tones.

After coming back from shoots, how do you remove makeup and cleanse your skin?

First, I wipe my face with antibacterial wipes then I like using a cleansing milk followed by a good face wash.

Hair gets damaged after straightening and blow drying, how do you care for them?

I avoid using a lot of heating tools unless a shoot requires it. Other than that, I keep it pretty simple with a good shampoo and conditioner.

What do you do to keep your hair healthy?

Oiling is the best way to keep your hair healthy. As repeatedly told by our moms and their moms. (haha)

What is your take on natural makeup or zero makeup?

I would choose zero makeup.

Advice for women who can’t buy expensive brands but still want to look good:

Our local products are not that bad, girls should give them a try after proper research and surfing the market. Then opt for the products that best suit them.

One thing you can’t give up that keeps you healthy and fit?

My positivity and ample intake of water.

What is one cosmetic you cannot do without?

Kajal and mascara.

When it comes to cosmetics, which brand do you usually use?

Maybelline.

What’s in your beauty bag?

Just the basics like compact power, lip tint and sunblock.

When applying makeup, what do you fear the most?

When the mascara or eyeliner isn’t waterproof and gets smeared all over the eyes.

Do you go to salons regularly for your facials?

Not that often. My skin is good as it is. Blessed with good genes, I guess.

No.
