* Lou (starring Allison Janney, Jurnee Smollett, Logan Marshall-Green) – action thriller; a mother (Smollett) teams up with a mysterious neighbour (Janney) to rescue her kidnapped little girl as a storm rages.

* Catherine Called Birdy (starring Bella Ramsey, Andrew Scott, Billie Piper, Joe Alwyn) –comedy, based on the 1994 novel by Karen Cushman; a teenage girl (Ramsey) navigates life and avoids potential suitors in medieval England.

* On the Come Up (starring Jamila C. Gray, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, Lil Yachty, Mike Epps) – comedy drama, based on Angie Thomas’s 2019 book; a teenager (Gray) tries to make it as a rapper but faces controversies.

* The idea of a live-action version of Pinocchio was originally pitched by Jim Henson and Steve Barron in 1985 but Disney turned down the project.

* Has received negative reviews from critics, with praise for its cast but criticism aimed at its lack of soul and the lack of improvement over previous adaptations.

* Sam Mendes and Paul King were in talks to direct the film before Robert Zemeckis was hired to helm the project.
