I love reading about fashion trends and celebrities, as do most of my friends (read young people). I hope to see good stories in the future, too....

Dear Eddy,

I enjoyed ‘The rainbow vibes’ (cover story, 9 September issue) by Tooba Ghani. I am a bit late in expressing my appreciation as I was travelling. The story was good, and the pictures were eye-catching. Do you know what I liked best about it? It was fun reading about fashion! I love reading about fashion trends and celebrities, as do most of my friends (read young people). I hope to see good stories in the future, too.

Dear Editor,

I am not a youth, but I read Us magazine with interest. I would like to point out that the Holy Prophet (S.A.W) has given us many golden hadiths, but I found one that has been published more than once. Please share the hadiths that you have not published in the ‘Reflection’ section, instead of repeating the ones that have been published repeatedly.

Thank you for writing to Us, Dr Samia; we have noted your suggestion. We would like to clarify that we publish ahadith relevant to our readership.

Hello Editor,

I agree with the writer of the story “Words are not enough”(9 Sept. issue). We should take small steps to improve the condition of our country. We often get lectured by our parents and teachers on what we should do for our country and how we should behave. The lectures get super annoying sometimes, but the words stay in our mind forever.

Hello Eddy,

“Bits ‘n’ Pieces” is an exciting section and science facts and news are always fun to read, but I have noticed one thing: there is no news of any scientific development in Pakistan. There are many universities and research centres here, and I am sure teachers and students conduct research in our local setting, which will be of more interest to us. Why don’t you publish those studies in your magazine? Also, interviewing professors and heads of department would be very helpful for science students. I got a chance to talk to a professor at University of Karachi and she told me that the government rarely gives grants to students for research and if they apply for foreign grants, they get rejected because their research proposals aren’t up to the mark. Please do some story in this regard as well.

Reflection

Narrated Abu Huraira (R.A):

A man asked the Prophet (S.A.W), “O Allah’s Apostle! What kind of charity is the best?” He replied. “To give in charity when you are healthy and greedy hoping to be wealthy and afraid of becoming poor. Don’t delay giving in charity till the time when you are on the death bed when you say, ‘Give so much to so-and-so and so much to so-and so,’ and at that time the property is not yours but it belongs to so-and-so (i.e. your inheritors).”
