* Day Shift (starring Jamie Foxx, Dave Franco, Snoop Dogg, Natasha Liu Bordizzo) – action comedy; a father (Foxx) makes a living as a pool cleaner, although his job is actually a front for his work as a vampire hunter.

* Secret Headquarters (starring Owen Wilson, Walker Scobell, Keith L. Williams, Momona Tamada) – action comedy; a boy (Scobell) and his friends start to suspect his father (Wilson) might be a superhero after finding a secret headquarters in his basement.

* Mack & Rita (starring Diane Keaton, Elizabeth Lail, Taylour Paige, Dustin Milligan, Simon Rex) – comedy; while on her best friend’s bachelorette trip, a 30-year-old (Lail) writer is magically transformed into her 70-year-old self (Keaton).

* Emily the Criminal (starring Aubrey Plaza, Theo Rossi, Megalyn Echikunwoke, Gina Gershon) – crime drama; a woman (Plaza) gets involved in a credit card scam and gets pulled into the criminal underworld.

* Summering (starring Lia Barnett, Sanai Victoria, Madalen Mills, Eden Grace Redfield, Lake Bell) – drama; the weekend before middle school starts, four girls embark on a mysterious adventure.

* Action comedy; multiple assassins aboard a bullet train find out they might have connected but conflicting objectives.

* Is based on the Japanese novel Maria Beetle by K tar Isaka .

* Was originally intended to be a dark and violent action thriller but was later turned into a light-hearted action comedy.

* Had an estimated budget of around $85 to 90 million.

* Has received mixed reviews from critics, who praised the cast – especially Pitt – but thought the plot was a mess and the humour lacking.

* Has been accused of whitewashing for casting non-Asian actors – Pitt, King – as their characters were Japanese in Isaka’s novel.

* David Leitch had previously worked as Brad Pitt’s stunt double in multiple films.

* Sandra Bullock replaced Lady Gaga in the movie; the latter dropped out due to scheduling conflicts with House of Gucci (2021).
