Poems forever

Crossing the Bar

By Alfred, Lord Tennyson

Sunset and evening star,

And one clear call for me!

And may there be no moaning of the bar,

When I put out to sea,

But such a tide as moving seems asleep,

Too full for sound and foam,

When that which drew from out the boundless deep

Turns again home.

Twilight and evening bell,

And after that the dark!

And may there be no sadness of farewell,

When I embark;

For though from out our bourne of Time and Place

The flood may bear me far,

I hope to see my Pilot face to face

When I have crossed the bar.

Enumerate?

By Saman Qadir

Sifting in the atramentous night

album of memories,

computation for?

what loss, what gain?

but all of gain,

all of the loss?

was just

You.

My tortured soul

By Bassama Tanvir

Though I’ve been in pain

But I care no more,

For my soul is numb

And I feel nothingness!

Time?s  Bonfire

By Masood A. Siddiqui

Time?s bonfire

Keeps on burning,

To melt the ice of disappointments,

To warm up the lost desire.

To remove the fog in the air,

A barrier between you and me,

A hurdle to view ,the feelings, fair.

To change the chilled sigh of sorrows,

Given by your beloved ones,

That a life , from the evil ,  borrows.

Time?s bonfire,

Keeps on burning, Keeps on burning.

Goodbye 2015,

hello 2016

By Haneen Moosa

The year is ending.

But I’m not going to let this secret be untold.

That I have learnt to let go.

Let go of what has been hurting me.

Let go of all those things that have created a storm in me.

Let go of those people who now are not ?who I know?; but rather, ?who I used to know?.

I have also let go of my own habits,

I have let go of my insecurities.

I have learnt to let go,

I feel more relieved after letting go.

I feel I have grown than being planted once again.

I have learnt that this year,

I will leave behind all those I knew and thought I understood them well enough.

To know them forever.

But perhaps this was the last year,

In which I thought to remember them forever...

I stand by the shore.

Waiting for the ship that will take me to the other side of the river,

That is to next year.

I’m looking forward to the year coming.

I am looking forward not to reveal but instead take in what comes to me.

To not get defined by anyone else but myself.

To let go of all that has been pulling me from not growing.

Oh Friend, Oh Foe!

I am not quite sure.

If I will meet you next year,

Or will I leave you in 2015?

It was perhaps a great year to grow and get rid of all kinds of toxicities.

So here?s a warm welcome from me,

For wherever you shall be.

You shall see

Me, away from you,

Becoming into someone I wanted to.

Embracing my dreams and aspirations.

And I have learnt to be grateful to my Lord.

And thank Him,

For drafting me into a person,

I didn?t expect to be.

But I am grateful to be that person.

For I have seen people changing like seasons,

And I have learnt that it is vital to let go,

All my fears, anxieties.

And now I shall only pursue

Tranquillity.
