Be kind to yourself
Instead of beating yourself up, treat yourself with compassion. Reach out for support and surround yourself with positive people who make you feel loved and accepted. Remind yourself that this feeling is temporary.
Stop body checking
Have you ever noticed that the more focus and attention you put on something, the more consumed by you are? Staring at things that make you insecure about your body isnt going to make them go away. It is only going to make you feel worse. Take a step back, and allow your body to take up the space it needs to.
Wear comfy clothes
Don’t punish yourself with clotes. When you put clothes on that fit or make you feel insecure, you will spend the whole day hyperaware of your body and be super uncomfortable. You deserve to feel comfortable no matter what your body looks like. Put on an outfit that makes you feel good and comfy.
Distract yourself in a positive way
Find something else to occupy your mind. Engage in activities and people that have nothing to do with your appearance. Call a friend, go for a walk, pick up a ood book, paint a picture, listen to your favourite song, grab your journal.
Recognize you are more than a body
What you look like does not define you. It doesn’t discount your worth as a humanbeing. You are so much more than a number on a scale. You aren’t your body or your weight. You are your goals, dreams, passions, values, talents, strengths. You are a soul, a force of nature.
