- Is one of six siblings. Her elder brother, Rafael, was murdered during an attempt to kidnap him in 1998.
- Was married to her high-school sweetheart, Joe Gonzalez (1991 – 1993; divorced), at the age of 18. They have a son, Manolo (born 1991).
- Was diagnosed with thyroid cancer in 2000; made a full recovery after surgery and therapy.
- Embarked on a modelling and acting career after being discovered by a photographer while walking on a beach.
- Appeared in several television shows and films before receiving widespread recognition for playing Gloria Delgado-Pritchett in the comedy series Modern Family (2009 – 2020).
- Is currently a judge on the talent show America’s Got Talent (2020 – present).
- Has been married to actor Joe Manganiello since 2015.

- Was initially scheduled to be released in May 2020, coinciding with the Eurovision Song Contest 2020, but was delayed after the competition was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
- Has received mixed reviews from critics, who found the film overlong but charming.
- Score composed by Atli Örvarsson. Soundtrack includes several songs performed by the cast.
