  • Became interested in acting as a career after spending a summer at London’s National Youth Theatre.
  • Studied at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art and adopted Andrew Lincoln as his stage name.
  • Made his screen debut in an episode of the British sitcom Drop the Dead Donkey in 1994 before appearing in a number of British television series including This Life (1996 - 1997), Shipwrecked (2000 - 2001), Teachers (2001 - 2003), and Afterlife (2005 - 2006).
  • Received wider recognition after appearing in the film Love Actually (2003).
  • Has since gained fame portraying the protagonist of the post-apocalyptic horror television series The Walking Dead (2010 - present).
  • Married Gael Anderson (the daughter of Jethro Tull’s Ian Anderson) in 2006. They have two children, Matilda and Arthur, together.
