Dear Ed,

In last week’s issue (15 August), I loved the cover story ‘Lessons we learned from war’ by Maira Murtaza. The story was inspiring as it focused on patriotism of the Pakistani people and how we stood united as a nation when our sovereignty was threatened by our neighbour. The interview of Awais Kashif by Asif Khan was quite entertaining. I have noticed that ‘Us talk’ section has become more interesting, perhaps because the young celebs give more candid and insightful answers which makes it engaging to read, and we deserve to know more about them. I also like ‘Comic Relief’, but I think the comics strip should be a little larger as it strains my eyes when I try to read the comics.

Hi Ed,

I don’t see entertainment stories in the magazine. Please publish more movie and drama reviews in Us. ‘The Green Room’ and ‘Comic Relief’ pages are my favourite pages, but their content is rather limited. Also, sports stories are no longer featured in Us the way they used to be. Is this because of our dismal performance in cricket and other sports?

Hello Editor,

I have been missing serial stories like ‘Hackschool Project’ by Iqra Asad and ‘Turn’ by Sanniyah Eman. If I remember correctly, Sanniyah also wrote ‘Violet vipers’, which was about the struggle of the Kashmiri people fighting against Indian aggression. Please, consider treating your readers to more stories like these.

Hey Editor,

I am an online reader who enjoys the poems published in your ‘Poets’ Corner’ section. Every week, I look forward to reading poems by our very gifted poets. I also enjoy the articles, but I would love to read fun stuff in the mag.

Hi Editor,

I really like Us because it highlights issues faced by the young people. However, I would like to point out that it is very upsetting to see young women subjected to inequality in our society. They are often paid less than their male counterparts even when they are more qualified. My cousin was offered a job on the condition that she would not take maternity leave for at least two years. As a magazine for the youth, Us should do a story on these issues to educate the youth.
