  • Rose to fame after starring in the medical drama ER (1994 – 1999). Has gone on to star in films including Batman & Robin (1997), The Perfect Storm (2000), O Brother, Where Art Thou? (2000), Good Night, and Good Luck (2005), Syriana (2005), Up in the Air (2009), The Descendants (2011), Gravity (2013), The Monuments Men (2014), and the Ocean’s Eleven series (2001 – 2007).
  • Upcoming projects include Money Monster.
  • Has been married twice: to actress Talia Balsam (1989 – 1993; divorced) and British-Lebanese human rights lawyer Amal Alamuddin (2014 – present).
  • Is involved with the humanitarian organization Not On Our Watch Project. Has also advocated a resolution of the Darfur conflict, and supports the recognition of the Armenian Genocide.
