At what age did you start experimenting with makeup?

During my late teens. Despite my mom’s initial resistance to makeup, she eventually gave in when I entered college at the age of 16. The real makeup extravaganza began when I started my university journey for a bachelor’s in sociology.

What’s your signature makeup routine?

My beauty routine is a delightful melody of self-care. It starts with the L’Oréal Sheer Day Touch Sunscreen, a sunblock sensation. Then, vitamin C serum mixed with almond or facial oil for a hydrating prelude. The grand finale involves choosing any lipstick shade that strikes my fancy, perfectly sculpted brows, and a dash of mascara.

What is your everyday look?

Most days, my skincare routine is all about hyaluronic acid and vitamin C serums, with minimal to no makeup. I love letting my skin breathe, reserving makeup for those special occasions when it’s an absolute necessity.

Which sunblock’s and serums do you use?

For serums, it’s a party with vitamin C and cold-pressed almond oil. Almond oil doubles as a fantastic pre-makeup moisturiser. For those scorching summers, a salicylic acid serum and hydrating face wash are game-changers, coupled with ample water intake and a touch of hyaluronic acid.

In the fragrance department, I’m all about the charm of Jo Malone, Tom Ford Oud Wood, Silver Birch, and Lavender. When it comes to lipsticks, the Charlotte Tilbury Glowing Jen holds a special place in my heart.

Do you prefer lighter or darker tones of foundation?

I opt for foundation shades that harmonise with my skin tone, usually gravitating towards light coverage options from NARS and Makeup Forever.

What’s your post-shoot routine?

I remove my makeup with either baby oil or cleansing lotion. A refreshing face wash follows, and then it’s a choice between almond oil or a suitable day or night cream.

How do you manage hair damage from styling?

Oiling is my hair’s best friend, coupled with a diet rich in fish for growth. Before blow-drying, a dose of hair serums is a must. Collagen supplements add the magic touch for healthy hair, nails, and skin – but always consult a doctor for the best advice.

How do you stay healthy and fit?

Early morning gym sessions, a mix of Zumba, cardio, HIT, and various exercises keep me on my fitness game. And of course, eating healthy is the golden key!

One cosmetic item you can’t live without?

The dynamic duo of Charlotte Tilbury lipstick and Inglot lip-gloss – a makeup must-have!

Which brands do you usually turn to for cosmetics?

My beauty bag is a blend of Nars and Makeup Forever for foundation, Kiko for mascara, Dior for blush and L’Oréal for sunscreen.

What essentials are in your beauty bag?

Lipstick, blush, the Benefit eyebrow pencil, Anastasia brow gel, brushes, contour, gloss – it’s the complete glam kit.

What’s your biggest makeup fear?

Getting pimples and open pores is the ultimate makeup nightmare!

Do you go for regular facials at the salon?

While I indulge in face waxing, facials are a vintage affair that I haven’t embraced in ages.

Who are your favourite local stylists or beauticians?

For hair, Saira and Bilal from The Krysalis. Ikram Gohar is the go-to for both makeup and hair, while Raheela at Rashid Salon works wonders.

Your preferred spot for hair and makeup?

The Krysalis, in Defence, Karachi, is the go-to destination for makeup, hair, colouring, cutting – basically, the ultimate beauty headquarters!

What’s your beauty regimen?

Hydrate, eat fruits, cleanse, facial oils, moisturise – it’s a simple yet effective mantra for perpetual glow!

Do you use anti-aging products?

Dabbling into the anti-aging game with some Kiehl’s products – because age is just a number, right?

What does beauty mean to you?

Beauty to me is about looking fabulous even without a hint of makeup. As the saying goes, beauty is truly in the eye of the beholder!
