In this evolutionary era, every nine out of 10 teenagers suffer from stress, depression, low self-esteem, and a lot of peer, parental, and academic pressure. The battle to overcome these challenges is quite difficult. Today’s teens are busier and more stressed than ever.

When I read about teenagers’ issues, the pressures they face, and evils like bullying and social media that lead them to negativity, I realised more self-help books are required for them to improve their life, whether they are on track or not.

The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens is an incredible guide for this purpose. Sean Covey’s book is a must-read for all adolescents.

The book not only serves as a guide for teens to improve their self-image, resist peer pressure, build friendships, and achieve their goals, it also offers hope and optimism. After reading The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens, you will realise that no matter what challenges you are facing, you can conquer them with hard work and a dream. All you need to do is embrace the seven habits outlined in this book. These habits are discussed through real-life examples from teens around the globe who share their experiences and the habits they have developed to beat challenges.

The seven habits are: 1) Be proactive; 2) Begin with the end in mind; 3) Put first things first; 4) Think win-win; 5) Seek first to understand, then be understood; 6) Synergize, and 7) Sharpen the saw. The book’s theme is playful and interactive, equipped with cartoons, famous quotes, poems, and other classic techniques to keep you glued to it.

In addition, it provides firm guidance so flexibly that the reader will find the advice down to earth, and easy to follow, which is, of course, the primary idea behind the book’s interactive and stimulating approach.

The writing style of The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens is basic and comprehensive, which makes it simple for readers of all ages, as it does not only address just teenagers, but also pre-teenagers and parents.

The baby steps listed at the end of each chapter and the different exercises were also quite helpful for me. The Great Discovery Activity specifically helped me understand myself and what is significant in my life. That is the first step in developing a personal mission statement and setting goals.

All in all, I found the book profoundly captivating and a must-read for any young person searching for motivation and inspiration to succeed.
