*Movies

* Black Panther: Wakanda Forever (starring Letitia Wright, Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira, Winston Duke, Dominique Thorne) – action, sequel to 2018’s Black Panther and the 30th film in the MCU; the leaders of Wakanda fight to protect their nation after King T’Challa’s death.

* The Fabelmans (starring Gabriel LaBelle, Michelle Williams, Paul Dano, Seth Rogen) – semi-autobiographical coming-of-age drama, loosely based on director Stephen Spielberg’s youth; a young man (LaBelle) explores the power of films.

* My Father’s Dragon (with the voices of Jacob Tremblay, Gaten Matarazzo, Whoopi Goldberg, Ian McShane) – animated adventure, based on Ruth Stiles Gannett’s 1948 children’s novel; a boy (Trembley) searches for a captive dragon on an island and finds much more than he anticipated.

* Spirited (starring Will Ferrell, Ryan Reynolds) – Christmas musical comedy, modern retelling of Charles Dickens’ 1843 novella A Christmas Carol, told from the ghosts’ perspective; a miserly misanthrope (Reynolds) is taken on a magical journey.

IN REMEMBRANCE

Aaron Charles Carter (1987 – 2022)

THE GREEN ROOM

* Vic Vela (@VicVela1): Aaron Carter was a talented young man who brought joy to a lot of people. He also struggled with addiction and mental health issues, and today he suffered a tragic death. His sister died of an overdose ten years ago. There are so many of us who suffer every day. I’m sorry, Aaron.

* Diane Warren (@Diane_Warren): Fame at a young age is often more a curse than a blessing and surviving it is not easy. RIP Aaron Carter.

* Zack Budryk (@BudrykZack): My take on the Aaron Carter thing is there should be a Minority Report pre-crime program specifically to charge stage parents with eventual manslaughter.
