Remember Bombay Rockers? The duo that hit the music scene back in 2002 with their smash hit party number ‘Rock Tha Party’ – the song that played at every festival, private affair, music channel and even roadside cafes? Well, they are back! The twosome has returned with a revised version of their ever-popular number for John Abraham’s upcoming film Rocky Handsome and we can’t help but feel all nostalgic.

The film version which has been portrayed as more of an item song playing inside a bar, with Bigg Boss 9 contestant Nora Fatehi twerking like Miley Cyrus, isn’t a lot different from the original in music and composition. The only difference is the replacement of English lyrics with Hindi ones and while we prefer the original, these aren’t so bad either, except that they sound a bit off at times. However, that’s not going to stop this foot-tapping rendition from being a wedding season favourite, this year. It’s hip, it’s catchy and it simply transports you back to the good old days when party music was at its best.

“I’ve been a huge fan of John, so it feels great to re-record our super hit song for his film,” band member Navtej Singh Rehal told the Times of India. “We are elated that this is the first track to be launched and are sure this new version will have universal appeal and become an instant hit.”

Rocky Handsome stars John Abraham and is the actor’s third home production after Vicky Donor and Madras Cafe. It is scheduled to release on March 25.
